Transportation Engineer

The candidate is expected to apply creative problem-solving skills to assist other markets and regions on high profile, technically challenging projects. This is your opportunity to work on a wide variety of technically challenging projects and be an integral team member as we grow our project portfolio in Northwest Florida.Position Profile This position is primarily responsible for delivering transportation projects. This position will work out of the Hanson office in Bonifay, Florida or Tallahassee, Florida. This is an Infrastructure Market position. A Day in the Life of a Transportation Engineer at Hanson Assist with engineering projects from concept through completion including design, planning, computations, quality assurance, and project management Plan, schedule work, and complete work assignments within established budgets and timelines Apply FDOT design standards and criteria as well as practices and policies Write clear, concise, and accurate technical and non-technical reports, correspondence, memorandums, and specifications Prepare accurate cost estimates, proposals, and invoices Utilize MicroStation, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Travel occasionally to other offices and provide project support as needed Perform limited field observations in support of construction and data collection Attend client meetings Availability to work occasionally beyond normal working hours for deadline completion or to accommodate field assignments Coordinates and collaborates with clients, engineering disciplines, sub-consultants, and vendors Leverage working relationships and contact with client technical staff and project managers especially in FDOT, local governments, and private clients Other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For We feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:
Technical Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil3D, and other related design software applications Soft Skills:
Communicating complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and public stakeholders both verbally and in writing Building effective relationships with internal and external client bases Working independently and as a team member to problem solve and learn new technical skills Interest in experiencing a variety of assignments is important Education/
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering required Professional Engineering License in Florida required 5
years of experience in the Transportation engineering industry Experience working on FDOT roadway projects required Working at Hanson:

Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Civil EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
